Dianna Agron surprised us this year when she chopped off her cascade of flowing curls for a shorter 'do (which was also BRIGHT PINK for a beat). Granted, it was arguably all for her role as Quinn Fabray, but we think the newly shorn locks are way more fitting on the multifaceted Agron—who runs, BTW, much deeper than the cheerleader teen queen she was first introduced as on on Glee. While it certainly isn't the dramatic hack that was Emma Watson's pixie, her edgy cut earns her a place among the other flaxen-haired PYTs afforded the opportunity to emulate legendary model Twiggy for an editorial spread.
The difference with this Nylon cover shoot, though, is that, unlike Watson or Mulligan, who already radiate the quirky fawn-like qualities and undeniable fashion plate status so essential to the '60s icon, Agron sheds a preconceived identity as her Glee suburban celebrity for a convincing Twiggy-inspired spread that just might trump them all. Maybe it's the Gleek in us surfacing, but we think Dianna (thanks, also, to Nylon's winning combination of Marvin Scott Jarrett, Michelle Reneau, Jenny Cho, and Georgie Eisdell for photo work, styling, hair, and makeup, respectively) is a DEAD RINGER for Twiggy. The slicked-over deep side part, the heavy-handed eyeliner application, thickest lashes, and the ability to WERQUE a mini. And if we do say so ourselves, D is killing it in this lace-sleeved coral Christopher Kane. Peep the rest of the retro-inspired spread and fashion credits below!
